- Work & Career Issues
Our first meeting includes a 90-120 minute session during which the client shares their personal history. This information-gathering helps build an initial relationship between the client and therapist. Over the next sessions, the therapist will work to develop therapy objectives, expectations, and trust with the client. Follow-up sessions are 50 minutes, unless otherwise communicated.
Navigating the world as a teenager is challenging and can often lead to interpersonal conflict, tension and family stress. Age-appropriate and creative strategies are important for adolescents to feel heard by their support network. The first session welcomes the teen’s parent(s) and/or guardians to join for information gathering in a safe space. Subsequent sessions will be scheduled with the teen. Caregivers may be asked to participate in parent-only or combined sessions as needed to address objectives and relationship issues.
The family system plays an integral role in the process for change. Family therapy may be recommended as the primary course of service or regularly scheduled to further explore family interactions and help build communication skills. Family services are scheduled in 90-120 minute blocks in separate from individual psychotherapy sessions.
This service is available to existing clients who choose in-vivo coaching between sessions to utilize skills learned through DBT treatment. DBT coaching services also include access to a printable workbook, assignments and various materials. If applicable, parent coaching is available in conjunction with this concierge service. Clients may choose to utilize this service only if individual psychotherapy sessions have begun.
